Berklee School Of Music

Emerging Artists in partnership with Berklee College of Music:

One World is invested in educating our youth through hands-on instruction. Accordingly, OW has partnered with Berklee City Music, a part of the Berklee College of Music (Boston, MA), to launch our Emerging Artists program. Berklee City Music harnesses the energy of contemporary music to reach underserved 4th to 12th graders all across the country. Berklee College is the world’s premier school for students of contemporary music and is the largest independent college of contemporary music in the world. They accept only the most creative and talented young musicians, and more than 70 countries are represented among their students. Berklee College alumni include such notable artists as Quincy Jones, Bruce Hornsby, Diana Krall, Natalie Maines, and Branford Marsalis, clearly illustrating that their graduates are well prepared to succeed in today’s music industry. In the Emerging Artists program, OW works with Austin’s music teachers to identify promising, underserved students who are committed to music education. These students will receive a number of benefits by participating in this OW program. First, they receive free tickets to OW season shows, allowing them access to our incredible line-up of musical performances. Second, students have the opportunity to be trained in the Berklee City Music PULSE™ curriculum, which is available exclusively to the non-profit organizations with whom Berklee partners. Lastly, OW sponsors students who are eligible to audition for scholarships to Berklee College as the result of their participation in the Emerging Artists program. We pay for all airplane transportation, accommodations and meals for any students awarded scholarships for Berklee’s Five-Week Summer Performance Program, joining musicians from more than 70 countries.
